Aquatic Floral

Hi!
For this manicure I was inspired by this tutorial.
I love these flowers! But I just wasn't in the mood for a pink/purple background so I chose turquoise and green.
The tutorial already shows you how to create this manicure and I just followed the steps so you'll just have to watch the video if you want to know how to get the manicure.

What I used:
Base Coat: Models Own 3-in-1.
Colors: La Femme Lime Cream, Kiko 387, Misa The Great Green Whatsit, White Acrylic Paint.
Other Products: Small Turquoise Rhinestones.
Topcoat: Seche Vite.

I hope you liked it.

Stamping Saturday: Pineapple Crazy

Hi!
I believe that I have seen this manicure before but I am not sure.
I can vaguely remember a light base with pineapples all over the nail.
But I can't remember where I have seen this picture.
If you do know where the picture is from, please leave the link in the comments so the credits for the idea for this manicure can go to the right person.

What I used:
Colors: Ciaté Big Yellow Taxi, Hema 810, Konad Green, Konad Yellow.
Other Products: Stamping products, Konad M30.
Topcoat: Seche Vite.

1.Apply your base coat.
I am working on a fake nail so I didn't use one.

2.Paint your nails a pastel yellow color.
My pastel yellow (810) is very sheer so I decided to use Big Yellow Taxi first to get a solid yellow background.

3.Stamp the pineapples on the nails.
Make the leaves green and the pineapple yellow.
Keep in mind that your base color need to lighter than the yellow that you a stamping with, otherwise your pineapples won't show up.

4.Apply your topcoat.

I hope you liked it.

Swatch: Catrice Caught On The Red Carpet & China Glaze Get Carried Away

Hi!
So this was going to be my anti-valentines day manicure on valentines day.
But I removed to a day before valentines day because I wanted a new manicure.
So this ended up being an everyday manicure.

Caught On The Red Carpet is a dark blood red color with a cream finish.
The first coat looks really sheer but after three coats it looks fine.
It is a lovely polish for the winter because it is so dark and vampy.
I do enjoy this polish because it is a bit darker than most dark red polishes.
I used 3 coats.
China Glaze Get Carried Away is a great polish to use over Caught On The Red Carpet.
It is a smokey topcoat with light red, silver and black large hexagonal glitter and sliver
and fine black glitter particles and to finish this polish off there is also some black bar glitter.
All the black glitter is the plastic looking glitter, it doesn't reflects the light or shines as much as normal glitter.
The glitter spreads nice and evenly, you won't need 2 coats or work with a a lot.
Maybe you just need to dab a bit of polish on certain spots in the nail but that doesn't happen a lot, overall it is an easy polish to work with.
A smokey topcoat is a topcoat with a black tint that darkens your base color by giving it a black tint.
I used 1 coat.

I hope you liked it.

Pedicure: Essie Naughty Nautical

Hi!
I wanted this polish since the summer! But every time I went to the drugstore to pick it up they were sold out.
So I put this polish on my wishlist for Christmas.
And lucky me! My sister got me this polish!
I tried this polish on my toes the day after Christmas.

I know that some people don't like to see other peoples feet.
So if you are one of them just click away.
If you don't mind feet then you can just scroll through this post.
It is just a swatch post with feet.

Naughty Nautical is a sea foam green shade with tiny sliver glitter.
The finish is similar to Bikini So Teeny by Essie.
This polish was sheerer than I thought.
I was expecting 2 coats would be fine but I ended up using 3 coats.
I used Seche Vite as my topcoat.

I hope you liked it.

Stamping Saturday: Safari Girl

Hi!
Once again, this manicure was one of my ideas during class and it doesn't really have a story.

What I used:
Colors: China Glaze Grape Pop, Konad Black Pearl, Konad White.
Other products: Stamping products, Konad M31, Konad M57.
Topcoat: Seche Vite.

1.Apply your base coat and purple polish.

2.Stamp the zebra print allover the nail.

3.Stamp the flowers in random spots on the nail.
If you made a mistake with the zebra print you can simply cover it up with a flower!

I like how you can also see the stripes through the flowers.
And I just love the color combination, but if you prefer other colors you should totally go for it!

I hope you liked it.

Swatch: MAC Impassioned & Sephora Purple Jewely

Hi!
My friend gave me Impassioned for my birthday.
I couldn't believe she got me a MAC polish.
She remembered that I always wanted a MAC polish but I thought they were to expensive to buy.
But she got me one! And a really pretty one too!

Impassioned is a orange coral color that is definitely more orange.
The color is opaque however it looks very streaky.
I ended up using 3 coats.
The brush on MAC polishes is a normal sized brush, not one of those really wide brushes.
Impassioned has a cream finish.

Sephora Purple Jewelry is a flakie topcoat.
It is a clear topcoat with a purple tint with pieces of flakie glitter.
The glitter reflects and yellow/orange color.
I don't know why Sephora calls it Purple Jewelry because I can't really see the purple in this polish after I applied it.
It is a nice topcoat but not the best flakie topcoat I have tried, it doesn't really apply evenly, you do have to work a bit with it and dab a bit of topcoat extra in some places.
I used 1 coat.

I used Seche Vite as my final topcoat.

I hope you liked it.

Rhinestone Waterfall

Hi!
I haven't used rhinestones in such a long time!
It's not that I didn't want to use them, It's that I didn't know how I wanted to use them.
But recently I found this picture on weheartit.com.
And I finally knew how I wanted to use my rhinestones.

What I used:
Base Coat: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat.
Colors: Misa Pay days Are Happy Days, Essie Natural Cotton, Black acrylic paint.
Other Products: Clear Rhinestones (different sizes).
Topcoat: Seche Vite.

1.Apply your base coat.

2.Apply your taupe color and nude polish over that.
Of course you do want to wait with applying your nude polish until the taupe color has dried.

3.Make thin black stripes going straight down the nail.

4.Apply a thin layer of topcoat and place the rhinestones at the top of the nail.
I chose to only use rhinestones on my thumb and ring finger.

5.Seal everything with a final layer of topcoat.

I hope you liked it.

Stamping Saturday: Checkered

Hi!
My friend wanted to buy some polishes by Kiko and asked me to show my polishes.
She liked 242 and I took a better look at the polish and loved it as well.
I actually don't know why I never use this polish.
So I decided to use this polish with a simple checked print stamp.

What I used:
Base Coat: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat.
Colors: Kiko 242, Konad Black Pearl.
Other Products: Stamping Products, Essence Image Plate.
Topcoat: Seche Vite.

I hope you liked it.

Favorites 2013

Hi!
Every year I do a favorites post, telling you what I liked the past year.
This year is no difference and so I will tell you which products I liked in 2013.
Some of these products might be the same as some of the other posts, I am a person that sticks with products I like.
If I find a certain product that I like I will use it for months!
But there will be some new products in the post.

The first product I had to show is the pump bottle by Konad.
At first I thought these were not worth the money, they cost a lot more than a normal bottle of nail polish remover.
But when I got this in my Konad Pro Salon Kit and started to use it, I realized why a lot of people like these bottles.
The reason why I love this bottle so much is that one pump gives you enough remover to remove a polish and two gives the right amount to soak off glitter.
Since I have been using this bottle I haven't spilled remover or had it drip over my hand because I got too much remover on a cotton pad.
After using this bottle I can say that I think that these bottles are worth the extra money!
You can get these bottles at most drugstores or online from different brands.

One of my favorite polish of this year has to be Fantasy Fire by Max Factor.
It is one of the most unique polishes in my collection.
Fantasy Fire is a violet purple color with orange shimmer that reflects orange or green depending on how the light hits the nail.
The only downside to this polish is that it is sheer. So I like to combinate it with another purple polish just to make sure that you can't see my free edge through the polish.
The polish that I like the most is Grape Pop by China Glaze.
It is a bit bluer than Fantasy fire but this is the closest match I have.
Grape pope is more of a blue purple shade with a cream finish.

I am going to show you these polishes really quickly because these polishes are no stranger to this blog.

First off is Mint Candy Apple by Essie.
If you don't know this polish you have been living under a rock!
This is probably the most know mint polish.
It is a creamy mint green color that is opaque in 2/3 coats.

Ok, how much have I used this polish?
A lot!
This gem is Big Yellow Taxi by Ciaté.
It is an amazing creamy yellow polish that is bright but not neon and is light but not pastel.
Unlike most yellow polishes, this polish looks great on most people, even if yellow often looks weird on you.
Believe me, I know the problem with yellow polishes.
This polish is also opaque in 2/3 coats.

This beauty is Models Own Beach Party from the Hed Kandi line.
It is a bright neon orange that is almost so bright that it almost glows!
Another reason why this polish is in my opinion better than other neon orange polishes is because this polish doesn't really need a white base or more than 2 coats to be opaque.

My favorite glitter topcoat has to be She Walks In Beauty by A-england.
I won this polish from Enchantra.eu.
I really like the polish but to be honest I thought that I wouldn't be able to combine it with a ton of colors.
But I was proven wrong, this polish looks great over pastel polishes, pinks, mints and lilacs look amazing under this polish.
She Walks In Beauty is a clear polish with gold shimmer and goldy pink hexagonal glitter in a small and large size.

My favorite color for my toes has been OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest from the Germany collection.
It is a purple based burgundy color with burgundy shimmer.
This is an amazing shade for the fall and winter but for some reason I just liked it more on my toes than on my finger nails.

Orly Space Cadet has been in my collection for a few years now.
At first I liked it but I couldn't use it for nail art because I couldn't find a color to use with this polish.
But since this year school has been taking a lot of time I started to wear this color more because I didn't had time to do nail art but still wanted a new manicure.
This color is the perfect polish for me to give my self a quick manicure without it looking plain or simple.
Space Cadet is hunter green base with purple and orange glitter.
On the nails it looks like an oil spill.

Another polish I liked to use when I don't have a ton of time to do my nails is Confidential by P2.
I got this over the summer in Germany.
It is a sand style polish.
Confidential has a dark blue base with purple, green and a sort of gold colored glitter.

A combination I have been loving the last few months is using a taupe color and layer a french manicure color over it.
I really liked the look of this combination because it is an amazing base to use for nail art.
The taupe covers the free edge brilliantly and the french manicure color gives it a more skin tone look.

The first combination I love is Pay Days Are Happy Days by Misa as a taupe base and Essie Natural Cotton as my french manicure color.
Pay Days Are Happy Days is a light taupe color with a cream finish.
This color is already a nice neutral color on the nails but to give it more of a skin color I use Natural Cotton.
Natural Cotton is a sheer french manicure color that has a pink tone to it.

The other combination I love is Pay Days Are Happy Days with Sephora Cha Cha.
This is a less natural without it being too overpowering.
Cha Cha is a nude polish with a pearl finish.

Ok, Enough polish for now!
The last few products won't be nail polish.
The Elvive Extraordinary Oil by L'oreal has been a lifesaver to me.
I used to use serum in my hair and it did made my hair less frizzy but if you use to much serum your hair will look greasy.
With this oil all the extra oil I apply will be soaked up in my hair.
So after some time the greasy look will disappear.
The oil also moisturizes my hair which a lot of serums won't do.

The Body Shop Strawberry Shower Gel is hands down my favorite shower gel.
This is my second bottle and I have a big bottle ready to use!
It smells like fresh strawberries and foams up really nicely.
To be honest those are also the only things I look for in a shower gel, a nice scent and foam.
This shower gel happens to have those two things.

And once again I have to show you a body butter.
It is the amazing Ginger Sparkle Body Butter by The Body Shop.
Body Butters are amazing, Body Butters by The Body Shop are perfect but this Body Butter is pure heaven!
It has a nice warm ginger scent that is perfect for the winter.
But this body butter isn't only a nice product for your nose, it is also a great moisturizer.
Unfortunatly you can only get this scent during the holiday season or in outlets.

That's all I have for you!
I hope you liked it.
