Hi!
For Christmas my parents got me the Nail Art book by Helena Biggs.
I absolutely love it! It has amazing picture with manicure that are great to wear every day.
I find that most nail art books have or crappy manicures that are just bad color choices or just a weird design or manicures that are done on long stiletto nails that you can't really wear on a daily basis.
But this book has some pretty awesome manicures for me to try.
And this manicure was the first one that caught my eye.
I just wanted to do it as soon as possible!
What I used:
China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat.
Colors: Paris Memories 234, Sephora Elegant Grey, Kiko 356, Paris Memories 234.
Mixed Colors: Lemon Yellow & Yellow Ochre & Vermilion (2/2/1).
Topcoat: Seche Vite.
1.Apply your base coat and paint your nail black.
2.Paint a white diagonal stripe, when the stripe reaches your sidewall you go in a diagonal line in the other direction.
3.Cover the white stripes with the mixed orange/yellow color.
4.Apply your topcoat.
1.Apply your base coat and paint the nail white.
2.Make a large triangle at the bottom of your nail with the mixed orange/yellow color.
3.Make a arrow shape above the triangle using a black color.
4. Make an arrow shape pointing towards the cuticle and fill the space between the cuticle and the arrow in with a grey shade.
5.Make the last arrow with the mixed orange/yellow color where the grey one starts.
I also did this design on my thumb.
1.Apply your base coat and your orange/yellow polish.
I mean the polish, not the mixed acrylic paint!
2.Paint one or two white stripes.
3.Outline the white stripes with a black paint or polish.
4.Make small diagonal lines in black over the white stripes.
5.Apply your topcoat.
1.Apply your base coat and paint your nail white.
2.Paint 3 half circles at the bottom of the nail with your black polish.
3.Fill in the bottom half circle and connect that circle with the middle one by painting stripes towards each other.
4.For the second and last circle just make small "X"s to connect them.
5.Make 3 petals pointing up.
6.With the mixed orange/yellow color you want to paint the tips of the petals and add short black lines to the base of the petals.
7.Apply your topcoat.
I hope you liked it.
Please comment.
