Braid Manicure

Hi!

I can't believe it!
I have tried the braid manicure so much and I just can't do it!

It looks so easy but it is so hard for me.

Anyways, here is my latest attempt on this manicure.

What I used:

Base Coat: Essence XXL Nail Thickener.

Colors: Paris Memories 234, Kiko 359, China Glaze Midnight Kiss, Ruby Kisses Teal Envy, Ruby Kisses Pinked Out.

Topcoat: Sephora Clear.

1.Apply your base coat.

2.Apply a white polish to the nails.

3.Apply a cream polish to the index finger, middle finger & pinky.

4.Make the braid on the thumb and ring finger.

5.Apply a topcoat.

Since I couldn't master this manicure I couldn't really explain you how you should do this yourself.

The combination that I see a lot is:

3 creamy colors and 1 metallic polish.

The metallic (gold) and the cream color (pink) in the braid that makes a nice combination with the color on the other nails (peach).

And a color that contrasts with the other colors but still looks good with the other colors. (teal)

Childish Tribal?

Hi!
We all have those days when you don't really know what to do with your nails or just don't have enough time to try something new.

Whenever I have these days I turn to my standard tribal manicure.

For some reason I thought that this combination would work... I think it looks like a painting of a 4 year old...

So maybe my tribal manicure isn't as fool proof as I thought...

What I used:

Base Coat: Essence XXL Nail Thickener.

Colors: Paris Memories 234, Sephora Yellow Umbrella, Sephora Valentine, Sephora Curaçao, OPI Hot & Spicy, Black Acrylic.

Topcoat: Sephora Clear.

1.Apply your base coat and white polish.

2.Apply the colors in horizontal bars.

3.Make a black line wherever 2 colors meet.

4.Make the different patterns.

5.Apply your topcoat.

Swatch: Herome Gothenburg & China Glaze Snow Globe

Hi!

Guess who is addicted to WeHeartIt?

Yep, I am!

I came across a picture of a dark grey polish with a white glitter over it that was matte.

It looked absolutely amazing! Unfortunately I forgot to heart it!

Gothenburg is a dark gunmetal grey color with a cream finish.

It is a typical Herome type of polish, I really like it.

Nothing special but still a great polish.

I used 2 coats.

Over that I used 1 coat of China Glaze Snow Globe.

Snow Globe is a topcoat with small and large white hexagonal glitter.

It doesn't apply a lot of glitter nor does it spread the glitter easily.

I find that China Glaze doesn't make the best glitter topcoats, their other polishes are amazing but these kind of topcoats with hexagonal glitter just don't have enough glitter and doesn't nice.

My final polish was Essence Soft Touch Topcoat.

It is a basic matte topcoat.

Best Flower Manicure Ever!

This is hands down one of my favorite manicure I have ever done!

I found the original design on this blog.

At first I thought that is wasn't going to work and would look horrible.

But I am so happy I just did it!

What I used:

Base Coat: Essence XXL Nail Thickener.

Colors: China Glaze Velvet Bow, Teeez Femme Fatal, White Acrylic, Black Acrylic.

Mixed Colors: Red & Purple & Pink Acrylic (1/1/2).

Topcoat: Color Club Dead Ringer.

1.Apply your base coat and polish.

2.Take the pink/red color on one side of the brush and the white on the other side.

3.Make the petals.

4.Outline the petals and make some black strokes in the middle of the petals.

5.Make tiny white dots in the middle of the flowers.

6.Apply your topcoat.

Disconnected Dots

Hi!

This manicure is inspired by this picture.

I choose different shades than used on the picture and regret it, I think that it would look better if I used other colors.

I also forgot that the tape that I used left a sticky residue on my nails so fiber from my pants stuck to my nails.

And of course I had to apply a topcoat over that so instead of a nice clean white line I got stuck with a white line with funny little black things on it.

What I used:

Base Coat: Essence Nail Thickener.

Colors: Paris Memories 234, Kiko 360, Ciaté Big Yellow Taxi, Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream, Catrice Sold Out For Ever.

Other Product: Tape.

Topcoat: Sephora Clear.

1.Apply your base coat and white polish.

2.Cut the tape into thin strips and apply 3 to each nail leaving some space in between each other.

3.Make different sized dots on the exposed white parts.

4.Remove the tape and apply your topcoat.

Swatch: Cherimoya 22

Hi!

Another Cherimoya polish that I got for Christmas.

I really like these polishes and magnetic polishes in general.

22 is a dark magenta color with a metallic finish.

The part that reacts to the magnet is a lighter magenta color.

I used 2 coats.

I used a Claire's magnet that has a diagonal line pattern.

Contrasting Tribal

A Weaheartit.com manicure, again...

Can you tell I really love that site?

The reason why I wanted to do this tribal manicure is because it has this mustard yellow color.

Since I have a hard time using The "It" Color by OPI in combination with other color I thought I should give this a shot.

I really like the result and think I will try it again.

What I used:

Base Coat: Essence XXL Nail Thickener.

Colors: Paris Memories 234, Ruby Kisses Teal Envy, OPI The "It" Color, Black Acrylic.

Topcoat: Sephora Clear.

1.Apply your base coat and white polish.

2.Apply the mustard and teal color in horizontal lines.

3.Outline every color and make the pattern.

4.Apply your topcoat.

I forgot that my nail polish wasn't dry yet so my index finger looks like a hot mess.

If you don't want to do the pattern on all of the nails you can always apply one of the colors to the other nails.

I think it will look great with black on the nails and the tribal pattern on the accent nails.

Crackle It Up!: Catrice Little Miss Sunshine & Angelica Neon Pink Crackle

Hi!
One of my friends got me this cute polish for my birthday.

I just wanted to use it and thought that this combination would turn out nice.

Little Miss Sunshine is a muted sunflower yellow shade.

It has yellow glass flaked glitter in it.

It isn't a terrible yellow, I don't love it nor do I hate it.

It is better than most yellow polishes for the drugstore. But I still prefer Ciaté Big Yellow Taxi.

Little Miss Sunshine isn't highly pigmented (still buildable) and is a bit thick for my liking.

I used 3 coats.

Over that I used 1 coat of Angelica Neon Pink Crackle.

It is a neon pink crackle with a matte finish.

It has no glitter or shimmer in it.

I used 1 coat of Sephora Clear as my topcoat.

Which Direction Was I Going?

Once again I was stuck on Weheartit.com.

I came across this picture and had to look at it for a minute before I understood how the girl did this manicure.

The funny thing was when I got in class the next day one of my friends had this manicure on too!

She had the same thing, she also had to take a good look at the picture before she knew how to do the manicure.

I just thought that was a funny coincidence.

What I used:

Base Coat: Essence XXL Nail Thickener.

Colors: Essie Bikini So Teeny, Kiko 359.

Topcoat: Sephora Clear.

1.Apply your base coat and base color.

I used the peach color on the index finger, middle finger and pinky, the lilac polish I used on my ring finger and thumb.

2.Take the second color and make a diagonal line and paint the bottom half in the second color.

3.Take the second color and make dots on the base color on the line.

The dots need to be a tiny bit on the line and leave some space next to the dots in the size of dot.

4.Continue making dots on the base color with the second color.

Just dot them in a line.

5.Take the base color and make dots on the second color slightly on the separation line.

This is why you left the space open, go in between the dots and place the color on the opposite side of the line

6.Continue the dots like you did on the other side.

7.Apply your topcoat.

Swatch: Catrice Steel My Soul & Models Own Disco Heaven

Hi!

I got this polish back in November but never used it!

I don't even know why because it is a really pretty color.

And I love Disco Heaven over taupe and and nude polishes. 

Steel My Soul is a taupe color with micro glitter.

It has a "Brushed Metal Effect", it kinda reminds me of the Liquid Sand Effect from OPI.

But it isn't as glittery.

The polish itself has a matte finish but the glitter still shines.

I used 2 coats.

I topped this polish off with 1 coat of Disco Heaven by Models Own.

It is a clear polish with gold glitter and a few blue/violet glitter pieces.

The gold always works with a taupe color and the blue/violet glitter is a nice contrast with the taupe.

I love this combination.

I used Sephora Clear as my topcoat.

Swatch: Essence Absolutely Blue & China Glaze It's A Trap-eze

Hi!

I wanted to see if I could use It's A Trap-eze over different colors then just white.

And I have found a pretty combination!

Absolutely Blue is a creamy periwinkle color.

It is such a gorgeous color for the spring and also for the summer.

It kinda looks like Lapis Of Luxury by Essie but that one is a but darker and a bluer.

I used 2 coats.

Over that I have one coat of It's A Trap-eze.

It is a sheer off white polish with multicolored and different sized hexagonal glitter.
