Love, Bought & Forgotten April 2013

Hi!
Another month has came to its end.
So it's time for another recap of the month.
So here is my haul, old polishes and my favorite manicure of the month April!

I was sad because when I went to Haarlem I saw that Sephora had a sale.
Yes, I know, awesome! But I knew that Sephora was going to be closed in Holland so I knew it was going to be my last time shopping there for a long time.
So I did buy some thing that I really wanted.
First of I got 2 Nail Patch Art sets, the one on the left is Black Boudoir, it is a shimmery white base with black lace over it.
And the other one is Golden Circles, it is a glittery gold with black half circles on it.
It looks like my Going Round And Round manicure.

Normally these cost 10,60 each but I got them for 5 euros pet set.

Moody Woman had to be the Sephora polish that I have heard the most about but I have never seen it myself. I was so happy when I saw this I knew I had to have it.
It is a turquoise polish with a green/turquoise sheen that at a different angle looks more like a blue shade.
It is such a lovely polish.
Normally these polishes cost 5,90 euros, I don't know how much I payed for it though.

Elegant Grey is part of the Expert Manicure line by Sephora.
I find that this line has more of the natural shades rather than the bright summery colors.
Elegant Grey is no exception, it is a light creamy grey polish.
Normally these cost 9,00 euros each, again I don't know how much I had to pay for this one.
The receipt only says that I payed 5,00 euros for both polishes together.

I also saw a box full of Sephora pigments.
I have never seen these! Well, the colors weren't that spectacular so it isn't that bad. But I did like this one.
It is 01 for the Nacres Shimmer.
It is a light baby pink with light baby pink and silver shimmer.
This one costs 6,60 euors but I got it for 1,98 euros.

And I know this set is over priced and it isn't a necessity but I just wanted it.
It is the Caviar Mini Bar by Ciaté.
The set comes with 4 mini polishes:
Knickerbockerglory, which is a dark pink with a cream finish.
Pom Pom which is a coral orange shade with a cream finish.
Fit For A Queen, it is a shimmery metallic silver.
Sand Dune, a metallic shimmery gold.

The caviar colors are:
Pron Queen, fuchsia, silver and navy beads and silver and fuchsia hexagonal glitter.
Jubilee, red, blue and clear duo chrome beads.
Hologram, all clear duo chrome beads.
Candyshop, pink, orange and blue beads.

The kit also comes with a tray and metal funnel.
This set costs 25,95 euros and 23,36 euros is what I had to pay for it.

And last but not least, I got this beauty!
I have been wanting a Marc Jacobs perfume for so long and finally I have one.
I got a 30ml bottle of Dot, it is a fruity and floral scent that is prefect for the summer days.
This bottle costs 50,80 euros but in the sale it was 40,13 euros.

I also won 3 A England polish. Enchantra.eu had a contest on their Facebook page and I won!
I am so happy. These polishes are really pretty and I know I am going to have a lot of fun with these.
The polishes I got are:
Bridal Veil, a charcoal black with holographic glitter.
Order Of The Garter is a mid tone blue with bright blue shimmer.
And last but not least, She Walks In Beauty, is a champagne base with gold shimmer and it also has large and small baby pink hexagonal glitter and small violet pink hexagonal glitter.

These polishes have been standing in my racks for to long.
Time to apply these to my nails!
From the left to the right the polishes are:
Catrice UpperWILDside.
Sephora Hippie Hippie Shake.
2True 12.

And my favorite manicure of the month has to be the Basic Rainbow French Manicure
I just love the look and how long my nails were.
I really miss that length!

I hope you liked it.

Stamping Saturday: Flower Bars

Hi!
This manicure just came to me. There wasn't really a plan or idea.
I just rolled with it.

What I used:
Colors: Misa Pay Days Are Happy Days, Konad White, Konad Sky Blue.
Other Products: Stamping Products, Essence Image Plate, Tape, Face Powder.
Topcoat: Konad Special Topcoat.

1.Apply your base coat and taupe polish.

2.While your polish is still a bit wet, press some of face powder onto the nails.
This will give the taupe more of a skin tone color.

3.Stamp the first image on to the nail and apply a piece of tape over it.
You want to apply the tape first to your hand and pull it off before sticking it onto the nail and let the image dry a minute otherwise you will remove the image.

4.Stamp the next part above the first image and tape it off.
I choose to alter the colors but you can also use one color if you want.

5.Repeat these steps until your nail is fully covered.

6.Apply your topcoat.

I hope you liked it.

Swatch: Nails Inc. Brighton

Hi!
I finally own Nails Inc. nail polishes!
I have been looking at Nails Inc. polishes for almost 2 year now and I never bought one because I thought it was too expensive.
My mum was so sweet to buy 2 of the Feathers nail polishes for me.
Here is a swatch post on Brighton.

Brighton is a clear base with blue and chartreuse bar glitter.
It isn't the typical glitter but more like plastic pieces, just like the glitter China Glaze Whirled Away has.
The reason why I like this polish is that it is buildable.
You can use it over another polish or apply a few coats and get a layered effect.
But the downside is that this polish doesn't spread to easy, I do need to place some more glitter in some places.
And it is hard to get a clean cuticle with this polish, some of the bar glitter you remove from the cuticle will also pull a few other pieces with it and leaves a small gap on the nail.
But I think that if you apply the polish carefully, you'll won't end up with big gaps.
I used 3 coats.

I used Konad Topcoat to seal the glitter in because it did had a rough texture.

I hope you liked it.

Swatch: OPI Gargantuan Green Grape & Sephora Gold Fever

Hi!
Gargantuan Green Grape has to be one of my favorite polishes in my collection.
I love to wear it in the spring and summer.
So of course it I had to use it again!

Gargantuan Green Grape is a milky pastel green color.
It has a cream finish.
I have never seen a color like this one. Most of the time the lighter green colors are more of a mint shade rather than a true green.
If you have a pale skin I highly recommend you to take a look at this polish.
I used 3 coats.

Gold Fever is a clear glitter polish.
It has large silver hexagonal glitter and tiny gold hexagonal glitter pieces.
I used 1 coat.

I hope you liked it.

Swatch: Rimmel Instyle Coral & OPI Black Spotted

Hi!
Both polishes in this post have just been standing in my racks without being used.
I haven't even used Instyle Coral since the summer!
Time to use them!

Instyle Coral is a basic creamy coral color that leans to the orange side.
It is a pretty color but it looks plain to me.
It doesn't really catch my attention and doesn't really look special to me.
I am not a fan of this shade.
I do like the Rimmel polishes self though.
I used 2 coats.

OPI Black Spotted is another version of crackle.
It leave rounded gaps on the nail that shows the base color.
I used 1 thin coat.

I hope you liked it.

Reverse Princess Half Moon Manicure

Hi!
I saw my tin with gold foil laying in the back of one on my drawers.
I thought it would be cool to do a reverse half moon manicure with the foils.
I only needed a color for the rest of the nails. That's when this combination was born.
I love the pigment with the topcoat but it is a bit too much with the foil for me.

What I used:
Base Coat: Models Own 3-in-1.
Color: A-England She Walks In Beauty.
Other Products: French Manicure Stickers, Sephora Nacres Shimmer 01, Gold Foil.
Topcoat: Star Nail Art Finishing Sealer.

1.Apply your base coat and french manicure stickers.
I already have a tutorial on how to make a reverse half moon manicure.
If you want to know more on how to do this manciure.

2.Apply a thin layer of topcoat to the bottom of  the nails and apply the foil, remove the sticker.

3.Apply your topcoat and press the pigment on to the rest of the nails, don't get the pigment on the foil.

4.Apply your glitter polish and topcoat.

I hope you liked it.

Floral Foil

Hi!
Here is another foil I got for my birthday.
I don't know why I didn't tried this foil sooner, I like the look of it and it does work nice on shorter nails.
I think this foil is going to be really cute for the summer, maybe even on toe nails?
I got this foil from naildelights.com

What I used:
Base Coat: Models Own 3-in-1.
Color: Paris Memories 234.
Other Products: Foil Glue, Spring Flower Foil.
Topcoat: Star Nail Art Finishing Sealer.

1.Apply your base coat and white polish.

2. Apply a thin coat of foil glue and apply the foil.
Here is a tutorial on how to apply foils.

3.Apply a layer of topcoat.

I hope you liked it.

House Of Marley

Hi!
After I did my rainbow french manicure my brother suggested I should do a rasta manicure.
I started looking at the House Of Marley logo and though that it would be a cool idea to combine those two elements.

What I used:
Base Coat: Models Own 3-in-1.
Colors: Essie Natural Cotton, Essie Mojito Madness, Sephora Yellow Umbrella, Herome Toxic Apple, Herome The Huntsman.
Topcoat: Essence Fruity Topcoat.

1.Apply your base coat and nude polish to the index finger, middle finger and pink finger.

2.Paint on the green, yellow and red stripes on the thumb and ring finger.
Do the same on the other nails but instead of a full nail you only want to apply the colors to the free edge.

3.Outline the free edge with black.

4.Make the logo.
I made my own decals with the plastic bag technique.
For the ring finger I only outlined the logo and after I placed the decal, I painted the nail outside of the lining black.

5.Apply your topcoat.

I hope you liked it.

Stamping Saturday: Geometric Pastels

Hi!
After doing some pastel nail art I wanted to do a pastel fading manicure.
I ended up using the geometric pattern on the M73 image plate by Konad.
I am not a fan of that stamp, I just don't really like how it looks.

What I used:
Base Coat: Models Own 3-in-1.
Colors: Essie Mint Candy Apple, Essie Bikini So Teeny, Gosh Bubble Gum, Konad Black Pearl.
Other Products: Stamping Products, Sponge, Konad M73.
Topcoat: Konad Topcoat.

1.Apply your base coat.
You can also apply a white polish if needed.

2.Apply the pastel colors to the sponge and bounce the sponge on the nail.

3.Stamp the image on to the nails.

4.Apply your topcoat.

I hope you liked it.
Please comment.
