Swatch: H&M Aqua Splash

Hi!
Here is a swatch post for H&M Aqua Splash.

Aqua Splash is a clear base with green and teal glitter.
I thought that this would look really nice on its own...
But it isn't opaque at all!
I am going to try it over other polishes but on its own it's a fail.
I used 6 coats.

I hope you liked it.
Please comment.

Pink Flowers

Hi!
I wanted to play around with acrylics and make some flowers on my nails.
And this was the result.
What I used:
Basecoat: Essence 24/7 Nail Base.
Colors: Green Acrylic, White Acrylic, Black Acrylic, Pink Acrylic, Essence Hazelnut Cream Pie.
Other Products: Gold Glitter.
Topcoat: Essence Gel-Look Topcoat.

I grabbed my brush at the very end of the handle for the black lines.

The gold glitter is in the middle of the flower just because I liked the look of it.

I hope you liked it.
Please comment.

Brand By Brand: OPI

Hi!
OPI could not be excluded from my Brand By Brand series.
I think that this is one of the most popular brands for nail polish.
Here in Holland OPI isn't sold at drugstores, most perfume shops and salons do carry OPI.
The colors I have are:
Hot & Spicy: It is a creamy orange/coral color.

The "It" Color: A mustard yellow with a cream finish.

Gargantuan Green Grape: A Milky Green polish with a cream finish.

Austin-Tatious Turquoise: This is a turquoise polish with turquoise shimmer. In the bottle is has a purple sheen but that doesn't translate on to the nail.

Purple With A Purpose: A medium purple with purple and blue shimmer.

Brisbane Bronze: It is a bronze color with a bit of gold shimmer.

Silver Shatter: A silver crackle polish with a lot of silver shimmer particles.

I don't own a whole lot of OPI because they are kinda expensive and I am not a big fan of them.
I also have to say that I have received most of the polishes from my parents or friends.

I like the formula, it is a tiny bit more to the thicker side.
The brush is a thick one, just like the Rimmel Lycra Pro one.
Most people like those, personally I like the more skinny ones like China Glaze or Paris Memories.
So that isn't a good thing for me.

Most colors do cover up the nail in 2/3 coats but some polishes like Austin-Tatious Turquoise need 4/5.
But that just depends on the color.

The collection OPI brings out are nice.
They always have a few cute collections like The Muppets and Minnie Mouse.
But to be honest, most colors aren't special.vThe colors are most of the time basic.
But every now and then I will find a unique color like The "It" Color.
I think it just depend on the collection and the kind of colors you want.
Of course since I have a big nail polish collection, colors will look less appealing to me.

The overall range of colors is really great.
They have a nice collection of multiple color, not too much pinks, not too much blues.
So if you have a smaller collection you will find a great color.

OPI costs 13,95 euros for a bottle of 15ml.
That is 0.93 euro per ml.
That isn't bad.

I know that a lot of people love OPI but I don't like the brush.
I do buy the polish if I really like the color.
But I wouldn't buy it if it was just basic color.

I don't like OPI a lot.
But I can see why other people like it.
A lot of people like the thick brush and a thicker consistency.
But I just don't like it as much as other polishes.

I hope you liked it.

Band: Avion Roe

Hi!
My friend asked my to do a band nail art design for the band Avion Roe.
I have never heard of this band before but I just listend their song "Who I Am" is really nice.
This is the picture she send me, I like how the ends seem to fade a bit.
So that was something I wanted to re-create.

I didn't want to do a full manicure of it so I did it on a tip.
But if you want to do it on your own hands you can do one sign on each nail and leave your thumb black.

What I used:
Colors: Paris Memories 236, Paris Memories 234.
Other Products: Acetone, Soft Brush.
Topcoat: Essence Gel-Look

1.Apply your base and polish your nails black.
It is important that the black base has enough time to really dry.

2.Apply a layer of topcoat.
This will protect the black base from the acetone.

3.Make the first sign with your white polish.
Don't let this dry!
So work one sign at a time.

4.Take your brush and dip it in the acetone and fade out the sign by going over them.
If you don't have a brush you can try it with a cotton swab but don't rub to hard!
Otherwise you will remove the black polish.
If you don't have acetone you can use nail polish remover with acetone.

5.Repeat step 3 and 4 with the other sings.
You nails will look like the picture above.

6.Make the signs over the faded white.
But a little bit smaller than the first time.
So the faded white will be the edges of the logo.

7.Apply your topcoat.

I hope you liked it.
Please comment.

Brand By Brand: Herome

Hi!
I wanted to do more reviews and especially some on nail polish but I never wear my polish long enough to tell people if the polish lasts a long time.
So I thought that it would be silly to review a nail polish if I couldn't tell you about the lasting power.
But in this series I am going to tell you my thoughts on brands and polishes.

This post is for Herome.
The first time I tried Herome was about 2 years ago.
I do like Herome but I don't buy a lot of their polish but all of that will be explained in this post.
The five colors I have are:
Mykonos: It is a sheer light green color with a lot of blue shimmer.
This polish isn't opaque enough to use it on it's own but over a black polish it looks really nice.

Kingston: Which is a light brown polish with a holographic finish.

Montevideo: It is a dark pink with a berry undertone.

Prague: It is a eggplant color with silver shimmer but with a topcoat it turns into a darker red/eggplant color with the same silver shimmer.

Mumbai: Which is a light lavender with a cream finish.

4 of the polishes are in the old packaging and Montevideo in the new packaging.
Personaly I didn't hate the old packaging but the new one looks a lot more modern.

The packaging has changed but the brush hasn't.
The bush has a rectangular shape, it applies the polish nicley
The polish will be applied nice and even and won't streak.

The texture of the polish is nice too, not to thick and not to thin.
Most brands don't have a terrible texture but there are a few that do have that problem.

Another thing that is a great thing is that Herome doesn't test on animals!
I am against animal testing but I don't really  research a brand to see if they do test on animals.
But it is always a great thing if a brand doesn't test on animals.

Now the thing that I don't like.
If you look at the colors of the WIC collection, they are ordinary colors.
Most of them are nude, red or pink.
They also have a few some other color like blues and greens.
But to me the color range isn't as special as some OPI colors or Essie.
But I you are looking for a good red or pink polish I would recommend you looking at the Herome stand.

They also sell image plates, I don't own any but I have heard that they aren't as good as Konad.
And most of the designs are the same as the ones on the Konad image plates.

Herome also started bringing out special collections focused on countries instead of cities.
Each collection has 6 polishes with a name of a big city in that county.
For example the Holland Collection has names like Utreg (Utrecht) & Agga Den Haag.

I think that that is a really fun idea, I also like the colors in those collections better than the standard collection.

Overall I think that if you find a color that you like I do recommend you to get it.
Because I have so much polish it will always be hard to find a polish that I don't own.
I do like the brush and formula.
But to be honest I would skip the image plates if I were you and buy some by Konad.

Herome costs 7.50 euros for 7ml.
I do believe that is quite a lot, that is 1.07 euro per ml.
Herome also has a special deal, 2 polishes for 12.50 euros.

Most of the time I would stop the post here.
But this time I need a favor from you.
I entered the Herome Snow White & The Huntsman contest.
I need to get as much likes as possible!
So if you have a facebook please like this picture!

There are a few people ahead of me and I would love to win!
And please let your friends like it too!

I hope you liked it.

And thank you for voting!

Review: Lush Give Me Five!

Hi!
I bought this box a few weeks ago and had the chance to use the products few times.
So I can tell you what I think of them.
The products come in a small cardboard box.
The box contains 5 products, 3 sample sizes and 2 full size products.
Even though 3 products aren't full size, they aren't small either.

The first product is Sugar Scrub.
This one of the full size products. (100 grams)
It smells like fennel and ginger. I don't really like the scent.
But the scrub works really nice so the scent for me isn't a big deal.
Plus the scent doesn't stay really long on your skin.

The scrub comes in a dome shape.
But if you use it like that you will waste a lot of product.
So I would recommend you to cut it up in little pieces and take some out when you use it.
I use around 2 chunks when I am going to scrub my hands.

I wet my hands and than rub the chunks a bit, then they get soft and I crumble them up in my hands and rub them all over my hands.

The scrub really makes them soft but I don't like it more than my Qtica scrub.
The Qtica scrub really sticks to my hand and doesn't wash down the sink as easy.
But the Sugar Scrub does it's work really nice.

When I run out of the Sugar Scrub I won't buy it again, just because I prefer the Qtica scrub.
But if you are looking for a scrub I do recommend you trying this one out if you can't get the Qtica scrub.

The next product is Putty For Your Hands Cleanser.
It is a really delicate cleanser. It crumbles so easily.
The texture is like that soft eraser. You know that one that is like Play Doh that you can mold in to shapes.
Or is that just something Dutch?

The cleanser has a clean scent.
The main ingredients are roses, chamomile, tea tree and lavender.

I have never had a product like this so I can't compare it to anything else.
I like the product but I don't think it is worth the price.
I don't get the use of a cleanser.
It is nice to use and makes my hands soft, but a hand cream does that too.
And a soap will clean my hands.

In the box you get 50 grams of Putty For Your Hands.

The second full size product is Tiny Hands Hand Serum.
I love this product!

It is a solid serum with Marigold & Chamomile.
It smells like a typical massage product.
I really like the scent of it.

I rub this inbetween my hands than I put my Essence gloves on and let it sit.
After that my hands feel so incredible!
Nice and soft like a baby!

I would probably repurchase this product but first I want to see how long this product lasts.
It is 7,95 euro for 60 grams, I think that is expensive if I can only use it for short period.
But if it lasts a long time I will buy it again.

And the king of cuticle products cou, Lemony Flutter.
At first I kinda thought that this was just a over hyped product.
But now that I have tried it myself I can tell you that this product is truly amazing!

I love the fact that is is a butter.
This is also the perfect size to take with you. I think that Lush should start selling this size.
The butter doesn't make everything greasy and sinks in quick.
And after using this product your cuticles will look great!

The scent is something you have to like, it is a really strong lemon scent.
I do like it myself.
And another plus point is that mosquitoes hate lemon scent.

If I will ever run out of cuticle products I would like to buy this one again.

And the last product is a 50 gram block of 13 Soap Unlucky For Dirt Soap.
This the product I like the least.

The soap has oregano and rose in it.
The oregano is really strong which I don't really like.
After smelling the soap a few times I started to pick up the roses more but the oregano still stays very strong.

Since it is an anti-bacterial soap this one will dry your skin out.
I don't like this soap, I won't ever re-purchase this one.

I don't like all of the products but I am happy I got the box.
I got to try 5 lush products and discovered 2 products that I really like and 1 that is also great.
So if you still can get the Give Me Five box I would recommend it.
It costs 23,95 euros at Lush stores.

I hope you liked it.

Here is a ombre manicure with blue colors.

On my thumb I am wearing Essence Cool And The Gang.
It is a cobalt blue polish with a jelly finish.
I used 2 coats.

On my index finger I am wearing Claire's Blueberry.
It is a lighter blueberry color with a cream finish.

On my middle finger I have a Hello Kitty polish by Claire's.
Again, this polish was part of a Hello Kitty set.
It is a mid tone blue color with a cream finish.
I used 2 coats.

My ring finger has 2 coats of Barry My Blueberry Ice Cream.
It is a bright pastel blue with again a cream finish.

And last but not least, on my pinkie I have W7 Sheer Blue.

Konad Pro Salon Kit

Hi!
I have a super announcement, I passed my exams!!
I am super happy because I also got great grades, if I may say so myself.

My parents gave me the Pro Salon Kit from Konad because I passed.
I am over the moon with it but I did found out that there aren't a lot of pictures of it.
Only the picture on webshops but no pictures of what the kit contains.
So I wanted to share it with you.

Those 2 picture were taken right after I got it.

A tip for you is:
The bottom part (where the polishes are) has a sponge sheet, you can pop out the circles and they fit in the stamps so you can use those like the sponges in the stamping kits.

I am going to save some products because I already have a few products that are the same (or similar) and I want to finish those first.

The first products are:

The Konad Base Coat, I hope this is going to be like the Essence 24/7 Nail Base.
I really like that base coat.

You will also get 2 Special Topcoats, I have wanted to try these out for such a long time! I can't wait to test these out!

And you will get a Cuticle Oil, I am surprised because it doesn't have a scent.
I am going to try it and there will be a review of it.
Like I haven't posted enough cuticle oil reviews...

Each of the products come in 10 ml.

Over to the special polishes.
The kit comes with 19 special polishes (10 ml).
I already had a few of these polish so the new ones are going in my draw and I will use those later.
The white polish is in there twice, which is always great because white and black are the 2 colors I use the  most.
It's just a cream white color.

Black Pearl is also included, I haven't had this one before.
It is a black with a pearl finish, to me it also has something blue to it.

And what is a Konad kit without a black?
I use my special polish in black a lot so I am happy with a new bottle of it.

Over to the fun colors,

The 3 purple shades are:
Violet Pearl, it is a medium violet color with a pearl shimmer to it.

Royal Purple is just a creamy Royal Purple color.
I am really exited to use this one, it looks really nice in the bottle.

And Dark Purple, to me it looks more like a plum color.

Sky Blue is an awesome bright sky blue color with a cream finish.
This color just makes me so happy! It looks so nice.

Blue which is just a ordinary mid-tone blue color.
I love to sponge this on and  use it as a base.

And Green is also a polish in the kit.
It is a darker green color, it is a bit darker than most green polish.

Yellow, which is the best bright yellow out there!
It is opaque and if you sponge it on you will have the best yellow base ever.

Pastel Orange, I already own this one because Konad doesn't make a basic orange polish.
The name says it all, a pastel orange color.

Dark Orange is a gorgeous color that I would have never bought on my own.
It is dark coral orange color.

Red, it is just a cream red polish.

Pastel Pink which is a bubble gum pink color.

Pink Pearl, it is a medium pink with a pearl finish.

Wine Red, this is such a crazy color!
It looks like a jelly polish in the bottle but on the nail it looks like a normal polish!
I think that this would be a great color to make blood splatters with for a Halloween manicure.

Gold is a metallic gold polish that has some tiny gold glitter in it.

Silver, it is a lighter metallic silver polish with silver glitter.

M37 up to an including M45 are also in the kit.

And the gem of the whole Pro Salon Kit is the Demo Plate.
The demo plates has all of the images of the plates M1 through M36.

Finally I have a pump bottle.
I have wanted one for so long! And of course I had to fill it and try it out.

Diamonds are a girls best friend, right?
So this kit wouldn't be complete without rhinestones.
This rhinestone wheel comes with round, oval, bow, heart, teardrop and flower shaped rhinestones.

The well known flower shaped pallet and white glitter are also included.

And the fantastic acrylic stick in large and small are also in the kit.
I don't know why I love these so much, they are just like orange sticks, only made out of plastic.
But I just love them!
The last few things are tweezers, cuticle cutter and body glue (1 ml).

And the last thing I got was a tattoo by Konad from Enchantra as a thank you for ordering from them.
My parents got the Pro Salon Kit from Enchantra.
If you live in Europe and they ship to your county I would highly recommend you buying from them.
They have such a great service and amazing products, I have ordered from them 2 weeks ago and I love everything I bought.

I hope you liked it.
Please comment.
